The Matrix 9/11 Coincidence

Matrix911
This trivia tidbit has been out there on the Internet forever, but i finally had to see for myself if it was true or not, and surely it is! If you go to around the 18:00 mark of the original Matrix movie when Agent Smith is interrogating Neo, there's a shot of Neo's passport.

Look closely, you can see some info such as his name, place of birth. If you look at the passport expiration date...yep, September 11, 2001! The film was released in 1999, a few years before the events of September 11, so definitely a bizarre coincidence.

Facebook is down!

Fbfail
Well it looks like Facebook is down at the moment, and everyone is turning to Twitter to freak out. Here's a collection of my favourite tweets that I've come across:

@danicrino: DNS FAILURE: Facebook is down which means 9 months from today, many children will born.

@alqaeda: #facebook is down. Not sure if we did that, but we should claim credit anyway. Hitting the infidels where it hurts, etc.

@postsecret: BREAKING NEWS: Facebook is down. Worker productivity rises. U.S. climbs out of recession.

@RobCottingham: This just in: Twitter has graciously donated an emergency shipment of fail whales to Facebook.

@TheDollSays: Facebook  users are roaming the streets in tears, shoving photos of themselves in people's faces and screaming 'DO YOU LIKE THIS? DO YOU??'

@SocialGuide: Chuck Norris unfriended Mark Zuckerberg. Facebook goes down.

@Lord_Voldemort7: I shut down facebook. That'll teach The Social Network for trying to steal attention from the Deathly Hallows Trailer. Take that, Zuckerberg

1.5L Coke now in Canada

Photo

First it was the 600mL pop being trimmed down to 591mL, now I just came across the 1.5L bottle of Coke today. I think it's too early to say that this is the demise of the 2L Coke but I will admit I kind of like this size. I might actually be able to finish this thing before that last 1/4 of it goes completely flat.

Spicy Szechuan Kraft Dinner

Photo

I must admit, I'm a sucker for trying new things especially when it comes to interesting new food flavours. This time, I happened to come across a free sample of spicy Szechuan flavoured kraft dinner. What makes this a bit different is that rather than the typical macaroni noodles, this one uses the Asian-style noodles.

I must admit I was a bit intrigued as well as a bit disgusted before trying this out, in fact my expectations were incredibly low.

Once eating it, my initial reactions turned out to be true as I must admit this dish failed on two levels. It neither lived up to the Kraft Dinner name, nor being a good representation of a spicy Asian noodles dish. The noodles were horrible (possibly due to the fact that this is prepared in the microwave) and the seasoning tasted really artificial (again, no surprise given that it came in powdered form.)

Verdict: Definitely pass on these, not worth the cost, or the 4 minutes or so of preparation time. (3 out of 10)

iOS 4.1 released

Now that I'm a full-fledged iPhone geek, I get pretty excited to get my hands on new updates whenever they come out. iOS 4.1 was just released today, and judging by the picture above I'm either a really early adopter or just have no friends...I'll let you decide that one!
